This role supports the accounting operations for multiple high-volume, cash-intensive food & beverage brands, including Pinkbox Doughnuts, Siegel’s Bagelmania, and Piero’s Italian Cuisine. These businesses operate across multiple states and are growing rapidly, requiring strong accounting fundamentals, tight internal controls, and the ability to scale processes as the organization expands.
Experience supporting multi-location and multi-state operations, as well as exposure to scaling environments, is strongly preferred.
Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including daily cash reconciliations, A/R collections, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, credit card processing, payroll entries, and general accounting support. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, ownership, and the ability to manage volume in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily cash reconciliations across multiple locations and bank accounts
- Investigate and resolve cash and bank variances promptly
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations with audit-ready support
- Assist with month-end close, including accruals, prepaid allocations, and journal entries
- Manage A/R collections and cash application
- Prepare, review, and consolidate corporate credit card statements
- Review cardholder coding and prepare department and property allocations
- Prepare and post payroll journal entries and related reconciliations
- Maintain consistent accounting practices across multi-state operations
- Identify process improvements to support scaling and growth
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field
- 2 years of experience in a fast-paced accounting environment
- Multi-unit, food & beverage, or retail experience preferred
- Exposure to multi-state operations strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of reconciliations and journal entries
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
