Staff Accountant

BASIC PURPOSE: The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing analyses and reconciliations to ensure accurate, complete, and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial statement preparation and analysis for multiple entities and brands.
• Preparation of reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with month end close process.
• Analyze monthly expenses to ensure timely closing of the financial statements, including preparing journal entries.
• Prepare accurate, complete, and timely corporate monthly and quarterly schedules.
• Assist in the implementation internal controls and accounting procedures for process improvement on a continuous basis.
• Review interim and annual external audit schedules. Support internal and external audit activities, as required, to ensure that auditors are provided with the necessary information to complete their audits timely.
• Prepare and file local tax returns, including sales and use tax, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and filing deadlines.
• Focus on providing excellent customer service with internal and external costumers.
• Flexible to adjust to changes in responsibilities, procedures or working conditions.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 2-4 years’ experience.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel formulas.
• Knowledge of local tax compliance
• Knowledge and experience with financial statements, a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with Sage Intacct, a plus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
