What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Diversified Restaurant Group?
BASIC PURPOSE: The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing analyses and reconciliations to ensure accurate, complete, and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial statement preparation and analysis for multiple entities and brands.
- Preparation of reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with month end close process.
- Analyze monthly expenses to ensure timely closing of the financial statements, including preparing journal entries.
- Prepare accurate, complete, and timely corporate monthly and quarterly schedules.
- Assist in the implementation internal controls and accounting procedures for process improvement on a continuous basis.
- Review interim and annual external audit schedules. Support internal and external audit activities, as required, to ensure that auditors are provided with the necessary information to complete their audits timely.
- Prepare and file local tax returns, including sales and use tax, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and filing deadlines.
- Focus on providing excellent customer service with internal and external costumers.
- Flexible to adjust to changes in responsibilities, procedures or working conditions.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2-4 years’ experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel formulas.
- Knowledge of local tax compliance
- Knowledge and experience with financial statements, a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with Sage Intacct, a plus.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
