As we continue to expand, we are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Controller to lead our financial operations and drive profitability.
About the Role:
As Controller, you will oversee the financial health of our multi-state restaurant operations, ensuring accurate reporting, cost controls, budgeting, and compliance. This role requires an experienced financial leader who understands the complexities of multi-unit restaurant finance, including labor management, food cost controls, and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance across multiple restaurant brands and states.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements, P&L analysis, and key performance metrics to support executive decision-making.
- Develop and enforce financial policies, internal controls, and compliance procedures aligned with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.
- Analyze restaurant-level financials, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for margin improvement.
- Partner with operations, procurement, and leadership teams to optimize cost controls, labor management, and overall profitability.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing strategies to support growth.
- Oversee multi-state tax reporting, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement and improve accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and technology to streamline processes.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the accounting and finance team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 7 years of experience in a senior accounting/finance role within a multi-unit restaurant or hospitality company.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, cost controls, and multi-state operations.
- Expertise in GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP software (R365 & Sage Intacct experience is a plus!).
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven leadership in guiding finance teams and collaborating across departments.
