Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the branch team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
- Manage the full loan origination process, including pre-qualification, application, underwriting, processing, and closing
- Develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and referral partnerships
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act), FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, and Fair Housing laws
- Conduct credit analysis and evaluate borrower financials using software tools like Quicken and other financial software systems
- Negotiate loan terms with clients while adhering to company policies and regulatory standards
- Oversee loan servicing activities, escrow management, and mortgage documentation accuracy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, market trends, and industry best practices
- Utilize accounting software and perform basic math calculations to verify figures accurately during loan processing
- Ensure all branch activities align with company policies on contracts, underwriting standards, and banking procedures
Experience
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar financial services role with a strong background in mortgage lending
- Demonstrated success in financial sales, negotiation, and client relationship management
- Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, Fair Housing laws, and mortgage servicing procedures
- Proficiency in loan origination software such as Quicken or comparable financial software platforms
- Knowledge of credit analysis techniques, escrow processes, and banking operations
- Experience working with underwriting teams to evaluate creditworthiness and document compliance standards
- Strong understanding of contracts related to loans and real estate transactions
- Ability to perform detailed math calculations including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on transparent communication and ethical lending practices
