Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer support and mentorship to clients throughout their recovery journey
- Build trusting, respectful relationships that promote engagement and accountability
- Assist with client admissions, orientations, and program integration
- Help clients understand program expectations, schedules, and resources
- Support clients in developing coping skills and recovery strategies
- Observe and report any changes in clients’ physical or mental condition to clinical staff
- Assist in de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed
- Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led groups and recovery-focused activities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including shift notes and incident reports
- Monitor client safety, including routine checks and awareness of client whereabouts
- Assist with transportation needs and off-site appointments as required
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (or Peer Recovery Coach) certification required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Lived experience in recovery with a strong commitment to helping others
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards
- Reliable, team-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
