Position Summary
The Benefits and Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing the administration of employee benefits programs and ensuring company-wide compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations. This role plays a critical part in supporting both our internal employees and our large external workforce, ensuring that all benefits-related and legal obligations are met efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, etc.)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits enrollment, claims resolution, and eligibility inquiries
- Manage benefit vendor relationships and ensure timely processing of invoices and data feeds
- Facilitate open enrollment and ongoing education about employee benefits
Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, ADA, etc.)
- Oversee workers’ compensation program: manage claims, liaise with insurers, and track return-to-work plans
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor regulations and implement internal processes accordingly
- Assist with annual audits, EEO-1 reporting, and ACA filings
Documentation & Process Management
- Maintain accurate employee records in Paycom and other HR systems
- Draft and update HR policies, handbooks, and internal compliance documentation
- Conduct periodic internal audits and recommend process improvements
Training & Collaboration
- Train employees and managers on benefit offerings and compliance responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Safety teams to ensure cohesive back-office operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
- 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration and HR compliance (required)
- Experience in staffing or high-volume labor environments (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and benefits regulations
- Proficient in HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
