Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team at Amana Colonies Bakery & Coffee Cafe Monday-Sunday 8am-530/630pm and festival/holiday weekends. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, making sandwiches, finishing baked goods, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure an enjoyable experience.
- Operate the POS system efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment and utensils.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all food handling practices.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring quality and presentation meet café standards.
- Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies to ensure availability.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall service delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or café environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell menu items effectively.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash management.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
