Position Summary
The Manager, Shipboard Talent & Crewing, is a shoreside role responsible for coordinating crew services in support of Amangati’s operations. Working closely with the company’s crew management partner, on board concessionaires, manning agencies, shipboard leadership, and internal stakeholders, the role supports the engagement, movement, and administration of crew members throughout their employment lifecycle, while also assisting with workforce planning and shipboard budget preparation.

Key Responsibilities
- Support crewing preparations for vessel start-up, shipyard phases, and vessel delivery, including planning crew placement, rotations, and logistics for early operational teams.
- Works closely with crew management partner and on-board concessionaires to support all aspects of pre-joining crew administration.
- Works with shipboard and shoreside leadership, crew management partner and on-board concessionaires to facilitate crew rotations.
- Work closely with Amangati’s on board leadership to ensure appropriate manning levels, rank coverage, and timely crew relief planning.
- Monitor crew contract durations and rotation schedules to ensure compliance with maritime labor regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations.
- Work with crew management partner and on-board concessionaires to forecast future crewing requirements and support workforce planning for upcoming rotations.
- Oversee shipboard compensation administration, including pay policies and the management of payroll processes and related systems.
- Review and analyze crew vacation schedules to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and cost controls, communicating any variances to shipboard and shoreside leadership.
- Monitor and analyze manning levels and operational requirements on an ongoing basis and provide updates and recommendations to support efficient workforce planning.
- Administer shipboard benefit programs, including the communication and distribution of plan information to crew members.
- Coordinate with our medical partner to assist with management of crew members on medical leave, ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, and follow-up with all relevant stakeholders.
- As needed, coordinates required training for crew members when conducted ashore, ensuring accurate tracking and management of associated costs against budget.
- Support the onboarding process for new crew members, helping to ensure a smooth transition onboard and alignment with the company’s service culture and operational standards.
- Prepare and maintain the annual shipboard personnel budget, monitoring expenditures and providing variance analysis where appropriate.
- Monitor and analyze travel, visa and accommodation costs to ensure alignment with established budgets.
- Ensure crew management partner compliance and budget adherence with company travel policies for all crew travel arrangements.
- Support with crew travel disruptions or operational emergencies and coordinate contingency arrangements when necessary.
- Ensure accurate crewing records and personnel files are being maintained while ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of all documentation.
- Maintain crewing reports and provide regular updates to leadership regarding manning levels, crew movements, and operational considerations.
- Assist in coordinating shipboard recruitment activities in partnership with crew management partner, on board concessionaires, manning agencies, and hiring partners to support the timely sourcing of qualified crew members across all departments.
- Review candidates put forth to ensure alignment with position requirements and company standards.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews between prospective crew members and shoreside leadership and or shipboard department heads.
- Liaise with crew management partner and on-board concessionaires to monitor recruitment progress and support the timely filling of open shipboard positions.
- Monitor overall recruitment activity, candidate status, and hiring progress.
- Review and code invoices related to crew travel, manning agencies, benefits administration, retirement plans, and union obligations.
- Analyze financial data, vendor proposals, and RFP submissions and provide comparisons and recommendations.
- Collaborate with relevant teams regarding crew travel vendors, accommodation providers, and crewing-related service agreements.
- Support audits and compliance reviews related to maritime labor regulations, crewing documentation, and operational standards.
- Assist with additional Human Resources initiatives such as employee recognition programs, engagement surveys and related projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of six years of experience in crewing, crew services, or maritime human resources within the luxury cruise or maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of international travel logistics, global geography, and crew visa requirements.
- Experience managing crew rotations, contracts, and workforce planning within a maritime environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong financial analysis and payroll administration capabilities.
- Experience supporting shipboard workforce planning and personnel budget preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS platforms; familiarity with maritime or shipboard HR systems preferred.
- Experience participating in the implementation or management of shipboard HRIS systems is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Additional languages are considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic international operational environment.
