Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Financial Analyst to support financial planning, performance analysis, and data-driven decision making across the organization. This role partners closely with accounting, operations, and business leaders to analyze financial results, identify key cost drivers, and deliver insights that support strategic and operational decisions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is analytical, inquisitive, and motivated, with the ability to independently analyze financial data, identify trends, and communicate meaningful insights to leadership. This role will support financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and operational finance initiatives across multiple business units.

- Partner with business unit leaders to analyze financial performance and communicate key drivers of results
- Consolidate and analyze financial data to understand operational drivers and cause-and-effect relationships
- Perform variance analysis including actual vs budget and forecast performance
- Support monthly financial close processes and review financial reporting outputs
- Assist in developing financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range planning models
- Perform financial modeling and data analysis using multiple internal data sources
- Extract, consolidate, and analyze data to support business decision making
- Provide actionable recommendations to leadership based on financial analysis
- Develop ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support management requests
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, systems, and analytical processes
- Participate in cross-functional projects supporting operational and financial initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strong financial analysis and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of financial statements, operating margin, cost drivers, ROI, depreciation, and cash flow
- Ability to analyze large data sets and identify meaningful trends
- Strong business acumen and operational finance understanding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial operations
- Experience with financial modeling and business performance analysis
- Familiarity with data extraction and reporting tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or cost analysis
- Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
