The Role:
We’re looking for a sharp, organized Software Project Manager to sit at the center of our engineering, operations, marketing and leadership teams. You'll work closely with executives, department leads, and engineers alike — serving as the connective tissue that keeps priorities aligned and execution on track across the organization.
You'll drive the planning and execution of specific software projects, owning them end-to-end from kickoff through delivery.
You'll own project timelines, deliverables, and day-to-day coordination across engineering, product, and operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
What You'll Do:
Project Coordination & Execution
- Gather, clarify, and document requirements for features, projects, and initiatives — working closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Break down high-level requests into well-scoped tasks and manage them in Jira, keeping tickets clear, current, and properly prioritized
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the CEO and the engineering team, ensuring priorities are communicated clearly in both directions
- Define project timelines and milestones, keeping them current as scope or priorities evolve
- Forecast project delivery across active workstreams, identifying risks and dependencies early to keep stakeholders aligned on realistic expectations
- Manage and communicate priority shifts across teams, ensuring everyone understands what is changing and why
- Track project status across active workstreams and proactively surface blockers, risks, or scope changes before they become problems
- Partner with the Head of Engineering on project planning and delivery using a structured waterfall approach with agile principles applied where appropriate
- Perform functional QA on features before release — verifying that what was built matches the requirements and catching issues early before they reach production
Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare and deliver concise status updates, milestone summaries, and project reports for leadership
- Facilitate alignment meetings and keep decisions documented so nothing falls through the cracks
- Support cross-departmental projects beyond engineering when needed, helping other teams stay organized and on track
Process & Tools
- Serve as our internal Jira export - own, improve, and optimize our Jira setup, workflows, boards, and configurations to best support how our teams work.
- Create and maintain project templates, documentation standards, and process guidelines
- Help onboard future team members to project processes as the team grows
You're a Good Fit If You Have:
- 1–3 years of experience in a project management or project coordinator
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can translate between business speak and engineering speak
- Deep, hands-on Jira expertise - you know the tool inside and out and can configure workflows, boards, and automations confidently.
- Comfortable performing functional QA and acceptance testing — you can methodically verify that a feature works as intended and clearly communicate issues when it doesn't
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a bias toward action
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, startup environment where priorities can shift
- Able to work independently and take ownership without constant direction
Nice to Have/Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working alongside or embedded within a software engineering team
- Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies
- Experience in aviation, logistics, or a tech-forward service industry
- Exposure to tools like Notion, Confluence, or similar documentation platforms
Compensation:
- Annual Salary Range: $85,000 - 125,000 USD per year
- 15 Days Paid Time Off (PTO) Per Year
- 100% Paid Healthcare, Dental, Vision PPO Plans
- Company Issued MacBook Pro iPhone
- Dedicated Office/Workspace at our 10,000 sqf Global HQ in Calabasas, CA 91302
Salary : $85,000 - $125,000
