Position Overview
As a Sr. Systems Engineer at Amagi, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our broadcast customers, leveraging your deep expertise in broadcast engineering and streaming technologies to address customer challenges and drive adoption of Amagi’s cloud-based media technology solutions. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of the pre-sales process, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of our products with customer needs, while representing Amagi’s innovative broadcast solutions in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical resource for the sales team, providing expert guidance on broadcast automation, playout, live production, graphics, distribution, and streaming technologies.
- Solution Design & POCs: Collaborate with clients to understand their broadcast and streaming needs, design tailored solutions, and create customer-focused Proofs of Concept (POCs) with clearly defined success criteria.
- Pre-Sales Support: Lead technical discussions during the pre-sales process, including gathering customer requirements, conducting technical demos, and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Manage technical customer engagement and ensure a smooth handoff to the onboarding team.
- Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of Amagi’s products and services, including Amagi CLOUDPORT, Amagi Newspulse and Amagi THUNDERSTORM, to build and deliver curated demos, technical presentations, and training materials.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a technical advisor and ensuring their long-term success with Amagi’s broadcast solutions.
- Industry Engagement: Represent Amagi at trade shows, conferences, and technical forums, demonstrating our product capabilities and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
- Feedback & Development: Gather and communicate client feedback to the product development team, helping to influence product enhancements and ensuring our solutions meet market demands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Pre-Sales Engagements: Oversee multiple customer opportunities and related projects, prioritizing work and proactively escalating risks in consultation with the manager and sales teams.
- Single Point of Contact: Serve as the main technical contact for customers during the pre-sales process, engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed for complex discussions or architecture reviews.
- Discovery & Documentation: Participate in discovery calls, accurately document customer requirements, and create technical Statements of Work (SOWs) for proposed solutions.
- Product Gap Analysis: Identify product gaps, create internal cases, and collaborate with the product team on feature requests and prioritization.
- Escalation Support: Provide technical support during customer escalations and collaborate with global internal teams during non-working hours if needed.
- Content Development: Develop technical collateral, including blog posts, training materials, and demos, to support internal and external enablement efforts.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly provide feedback to enhance the pre-sales engineering process and improve product and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Experience: 7 years in media & entertainment technologies, with 5 years in pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or broadcast engineering.
- MUST have Technical Skills:
- Subject matter expertise in broadcast automation, playout, live production, graphics, and distribution workflows.
- Strong understanding of streaming media technologies and ad monetization.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools such as Linux, automation tools (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible), scripting languages (e.g., Ruby, Python), workflows (e.g., Argo CI/CD, GitOps), or containerized services (e.g., Kubernetes) is desirable.
- Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with sales and software engineering tools such as Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely in written and verbal form, including technical instructions and product descriptions.
- Problem-Solving & Time Management: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving client challenges. Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, with excellent multitasking and time management skills.
Additional Requirements
- Must have worked with a broadcast vendor or a customer in broadcast engineering.
- Knowledge of broadcast operations is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications in public cloud technologies are a plus.

Compensation
Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000 USD base salary plus performance pay bonus. In accordance with local pay transparency laws, this reflects the expected target compensation range for this role in the United States. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, training, and location.
