What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accounting position at Amada?
Assist in the accounting function of manufacturing control, reporting, and analysis. The Mfg. Cost Accountant will work on period close functions such as reconciliation of inventory accounts, journal entries, cost analysis, month end reports and schedule preparation of the Mfg. operation. Maintains and assures the accuracy of accounting records. Other miscellaneous Accounting duties as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares monthly schedules of manufacturing costs
- Supports monthly close process
- Maintains and assures the accuracy of the raw materials and work in process cost
- Analyzes all entries relating to the manufacturing processes in Syteline
- Maintains and assures the accuracy of the finished goods inventory
- Maintains and assures the accuracy of freight in costs for purchased inventory
- Assists in entering journal entries
- Assists external auditors in the preparation of audit schedules
- Prepares budget reports for the manufacturing division
- Performs various account reconciliations and analysis
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
NON- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in special accounting projects, as needed.
SKILLS:
- 10-key by touch
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Very strong in attention to detail
- Experience with Syteline is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and in a teamwork setting
WORK ENVIORNMENT:
- Onsite in Buena Park office Monday - Friday
- Cubicle within Accounting office
PAY RANGE:
- Staring at $70,000.00 (NON-EXEMPT)
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- Division Manager-Accounting
SUBORDINATE STAFF:
- None
KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 1-3 years of Cost Accounting experience preferred
TRAVEL
- Very little travel
