Basebuild Semiconductor Project Manager
The Basebuild Semiconductor Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering semiconductor facility basebuild construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover. This role oversees project execution, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, client communication, and risk mitigation for highly technical industrial construction projects.
The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for internal teams, clients, design partners, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead semiconductor basebuild construction projects through all project phases including:
- Preconstruction
- Procurement
- Construction execution
- Commissioning
- Turnover
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans and reporting tools.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and client expectations.
Financial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and change management.
- Review subcontractor bids, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Track project financial performance and prepare monthly reporting.
- Identify and mitigate project risks impacting cost or schedule.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as primary client interface for project communication and reporting.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Lead project meetings and provide executive-level updates.
- Resolve project issues and facilitate timely decision-making.
Construction Oversight
- Coordinate with superintendents and field teams to support construction execution.
- Monitor project progress against schedule and milestones.
- Support quality assurance and safety compliance initiatives.
- Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction documentation.
Semiconductor Facility Management
- Manage projects involving:
- Cleanroom environments
- High-purity utility systems
- Tool install infrastructure
- Process utility coordination
- Complex MEP systems
- Coordinate shutdowns, facility integration, and contamination control requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 7 years of construction project management experience.
- Experience managing industrial, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or mission-critical projects.
- Strong understanding of:
- Construction contracts
- Scheduling
- Cost management
- Project controls
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Preferred
- Semiconductor fab construction experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with:
- Cleanroom construction
- CSA and MEP coordination
- Commissioning and turnover processes
- Lean construction practices
- PMP certification preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
