Process/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer – Fill-Finish Capital Project (Kenosha, WI)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineer to support a large greenfield capital project focused on pharmaceutical fill-finish manufacturing in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This role will play a key part in delivering cGMP-compliant production systems, supporting activities from design review through construction execution, commissioning, and handover.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in life sciences facilities, strong technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines, and the ability to work cross-functionally with design teams, construction leadership, and pharmaceutical end-clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering and construction execution for a greenfield fill-finish manufacturing facility.
- Participate in design reviews for process, mechanical, and/or electrical systems, ensuring alignment with cGMP requirements and client standards.
- Review and comment on PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, equipment specifications, electrical one-lines, and utility designs relevant to fill-finish operations.
- Provide technical support during construction, including field issue resolution, RFIs, constructability reviews, and change management.
- Coordinate with construction superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure systems are installed per design intent.
- Support process and utility systems including formulation, filling lines, isolators/RABS, clean utilities (WFI, clean steam), HVAC, electrical power, and controls.
- Participate in system walkdowns, punch list development, and turnover activities.
- Support commissioning and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ readiness), including test protocols, field verification, and documentation review.
- Interface directly with pharmaceutical client representatives, QA, validation, and operations teams.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Discipline-Specific Experience (Any Combination Preferred)
Interested in candidates coming from one or more of the following backgrounds:
Process Engineering
- Fill-finish process systems, aseptic processing, formulation, filling, capping, and packaging
- Process equipment specification and vendor coordination
- PFD/P&ID development and review
Mechanical Engineering
- Clean utilities (WFI, clean steam, CIP/SIP)
- Process piping, high-purity systems, and HVAC for controlled environments
- Equipment installation and mechanical system integration
Electrical Engineering
- Power distribution, MCCs, panels, UPS, grounding, and life safety systems
- Electrical design review and construction support
- Coordination with automation and controls teams
Design Review / Construction Support
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical design reviews on behalf of owners or EPCs
- Field superintendent or construction engineering experience supporting installation and startup
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- 5–10 years of experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech facilities.
- Direct experience supporting fill-finish, aseptic manufacturing, or sterile production facilities.
- Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, electrical one-lines, and schedules.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Experience on greenfield capital projects strongly preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site in Kenosha, WI.
