Field Superintendent – Fill-Finish Life Sciences Project (Kenosha, WI)
Position Overview
The Field Superintendent will provide on-site leadership for construction execution on a large greenfield pharmaceutical fill-finish capital project in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This role is responsible for coordinating daily field activities, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with cGMP, project specifications, and schedule requirements.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience delivering life sciences or biotech facilities, strong field leadership skills, and a working understanding of fill-finish process areas, clean utilities, and controlled environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across multiple trades supporting fill-finish manufacturing areas.
- Supervise subcontractors and field crews to ensure work is performed in accordance with drawings, specifications, cGMP standards, and project schedules.
- Coordinate installation sequencing for process equipment, clean utilities, HVAC, electrical, and architectural finishes in controlled environments.
- Conduct daily field walks, progress tracking, and work planning to support short-interval scheduling and look-ahead plans.
- Enforce site safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and promote a strong safety culture.
- Support field quality control, including inspections, punch list development, and verification of installations prior to turnover.
- Interface with project management, engineering, commissioning, validation, and client teams to resolve field issues and maintain alignment.
- Review drawings, specifications, and RFIs to support constructability and field execution.
- Support startup, commissioning, and qualification activities (IQ/OQ readiness) through system walkdowns and issue resolution.
- Maintain daily reports, manpower tracking, and field documentation.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of construction field experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech facilities.
- Direct experience supporting fill-finish, aseptic processing, or sterile manufacturing facilities.
- Experience working on greenfield capital projects strongly preferred.
- Understanding of cGMP requirements and cleanroom construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, schedules, and specifications.
- Proven leadership experience supervising subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced construction environment.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Kenosha, WI.
