Overview
The Sr. Data Analyst is a technical specialist focused on the analysis, development, programming, coordination and documentation of Insurance financial calculation data specifications and extracts in support of corporate divisional and/or product initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain calculation data specifications - bridging accounting and IT disciplines
- Develop the technical specifications using an in-house programming language
- Resolve data calculation and specification inconsistencies
- Develop, verify and maintain detailed documentation of calculation specifications, extracts and definitions
- Provide quality assurance oversight to the calculation processes
- Work closely with various departments to define calculation specifications for internal reports and/or products
- Effectively communicate pertinent information regarding calculation specification system status, current issues, estimated completion dates and technical concerns
- Stay current with ongoing developments in relevant US statutory, US GAAP, IFRS and/or foreign or individual jurisdictions’ statutory accounting and reporting standards
- Analyze NAIC/OSFI specifications for updates needed for calculation and/or extract specifications
- Work independently with minimum supervision
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant work experience
