The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience in various shop environments. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair processes. The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles are operating safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.
**Duties**
- Perform thorough automotive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, and alignment.
- Repair and replace components such as transmissions, powertrains, shocks and struts, and suspension systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs on various vehicle makes and models.
- Work with automotive electrical systems to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and recommended services.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and diesel engine repair.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic, preferably with dealership experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and perform complex repairs.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and tools.
- Experience in welding is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of GM vehicles is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
