Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles of various sizes and types.
- Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs as needed to prepare vehicles for transport or roadside assistance.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure handling at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining services, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment and maintain cleanliness to ensure operational readiness.
- Manage conflict situations calmly and effectively when dealing with distressed customers or challenging scenarios.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during vehicle recovery operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmissions, flatbed tow trucks, and other specialized recovery equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving preferred.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair procedures and mechanic work is highly desirable.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate tools like forklifts or winches.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, including mechanical components of various vehicle types.
