What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Electrician - Foundry position at Aluminum Alloys?
Job Summary
Perform the mechanical/electrical maintenance required to keep machines, equipment, and facility in good/safe operating condition. Responsible for troubleshooting and repair, as well as some production set-up and assistance.
Essential Functions
Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as furnaces, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning machinery, replace transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables as needed for production.
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position-sensing devices.
- Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
- Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical components in buildings.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance as required.
- Perform housekeeping as required.
- Complete paperwork including scheduling, logs, recordkeeping, PMs, etc.
- Read and interpret documents/schematics such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Work with mathematical concepts
- Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Skills or Experience Required
Must have a High School diploma or GED.
- 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PLC experience/training is a plus.
Safety Equipment Requirement:
The use of appropriate safety equipment as described below is a condition of employment and not one of choice. While some tasks may require additional PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), standard safety equipment that must be worn while on the floor as follows:
- Safety Glasses
- Ear Plugs
- Safety Boots (Steel or Composite Toe)
