What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing + Community Coordinator Intern — Summer Program position at Altruist?
Garden City, Idaho — In Studio / In the Wild
This is not a desk job. This is about building energy.
We are creating more than buildings, we’re creating a cultural node. A place where design, people, ideas, and commerce collide. Our studio lives inside a raw, evolving warehouse in Garden City, and we’re turning it into a platform for community, creativity, and experience. We’re looking for someone to help bring that to life.
What you'll step into
You’ll be at the center of programming and storytelling for a space designed to gather people.
- Dream up and execute community-driven events, from retail pop-ups to larger cultural moments
- Help shape and activate a flex space that blends office, retail, and workshop environments
- Collaborate with marketing strategists, designers, and founders to bring ideas into the real world
- Build relationships with local creatives, brands, and tastemakers across Boise and greater Idaho
- Support ongoing programming like First Friday activations, gallery installations, and retail collaborations
- Contribute to the voice and presence of the brand, from social to on-the-ground storytelling
This is part event producer, part community builder, part cultural curator.
What we're building
- A rotating series of pop-ups with aligned brands (clothing, beverage, product, and beyond)
- A gallery wall showcasing local artists and makers
- A consistent presence in First Friday Boise bringing energy, people, and ideas into the space
- A creative hub that feels alive and where something is always happening
Who you are
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality, or a related field (minimum 2 years completed)
- High-energy, positive, and genuinely enjoy being around people
- Organized enough to execute, but creative enough to imagine what doesn’t exist yet
- Comfortable in social environments, you can walk into a room and connect
- Motivated, reliable, and ready to take ownership
Bonus (not required):
- Experience with events, pop-ups, or community organizing
- A strong pulse on culture—what’s interesting, who’s doing cool things, what’s next
Program Details
- Location: In-person, Garden City (Boise), Idaho
- Duration: Summer (with potential to extend)

- Schedule: Flexible, but requires presence for events coordination
Why this exists
We believe great spaces don’t just sit there, they pull people in.
This role is about learning how to create that pull. How to gather the right people. How to build something others want to be part of.
