About the Role:
The Distribution Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of products within the wholesale trade industry. This position is responsible for managing the logistics and distribution processes to meet customer demands while optimizing operational costs. The coordinator will collaborate closely with warehouse teams, transportation providers, and sales departments to maintain seamless supply chain operations. By monitoring inventory levels and shipment schedules, the role ensures that stock availability aligns with market needs and company goals. Ultimately, the Distribution Coordinator contributes to enhancing customer satisfaction through reliable and accurate order fulfillment across the Colorado region.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in using inventory management and transportation software systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience working within the wholesale trade industry or a similar fast-paced distribution environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to transportation and freight handling.
- Knowledge of cost control and budgeting within distribution operations.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily distribution activities including scheduling shipments, tracking deliveries, and managing transportation resources.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate order picking, packing, and dispatching.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Liaise with carriers and freight companies to negotiate rates and resolve any delivery issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, delivery statuses, and distribution metrics for reporting and analysis.
- Work closely with sales and customer service teams to address client inquiries and ensure order accuracy.
- Implement and improve distribution processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to transportation and distribution.
