About the role
An international freight forwarder is hiring an Ocean Import Operator for its New York office.
What you'll do
- Manage FCL and LCL ocean imports from pre-alert to final delivery
- File ISF and send documents to the broker for clearance
- Arrange drayage, deliveries and container returns; manage demurrage and detention
- Handle holds, exams and freight releases
- Keep customers and overseas agents updated; complete costing and billing
What you'll bring
- 1 to 3 years in ocean import operations
- Knowledge of ISF, Port of NY/NJ terminals and release processes
- Organized, proactive and good with customers
- CargoWise experience and a second language are a plus
