About the role
An international freight forwarder is hiring an Export Manager for its New York office. You will lead the export department across air and ocean, manage the team and protect service and margin.
What you'll do
- Lead daily export operations by air and ocean
- Manage, train and develop the export team
- Own department KPIs, gross profit and service levels
- Build relationships with carriers, overseas agents and key customers
- Ensure compliance with export rules (AES/EEI, EAR, dangerous goods)
- Improve processes and support sales with quotes and new accounts
What you'll bring
- 6 years in freight forwarding exports, with 2 years leading a team
- Air and ocean export experience
- Strong knowledge of AES filing and export compliance
- Commercial awareness and a hands-on management style
- CargoWise experience preferred; a second language is a plus
