About the Role
This position focuses on managing day-to-day air export operations from the Charlotte market. You’ll handle shipments from booking through final delivery, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and on-time performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive in communication, and confident working in a fast-paced, international logistics environment. This is a great role for someone who enjoys structured processes, problem-solving, and being a key contributor in a high-performing air export department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage air export shipments from start to finish, including booking, documentation, and coordination with carriers and overseas partners
- Prepare export documentation such as HAWBs, MAWBs, AES filings, and commercial invoices
- Communicate with customers to provide updates, troubleshoot issues, and ensure service expectations are met
- Monitor cargo movements to ensure timely departure and delivery while maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate closely with internal teams, carriers, and ground handlers to resolve exceptions and prevent delays
- Maintain accurate data entry and shipment records within the company’s TMS
Candidate Requirements
- 2 years of air export experience within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, AES, and compliance procedures
- Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a time-sensitive, high-volume setting
- Experience working with major carriers, co-loaders, and ground handlers
- Familiarity with logistics systems (CargoWise or similar preferred)
- Must be based in or able to commute to the Charlotte, NC area
