Business Development Manager - International Freight Forwarding | Houston, TX | $130,000 - $150,000 Commission

Our customer is a privately owned international freight forwarder established more than twenty years ago in Europe and operating across forty countries. The U.S. business launched over a decade ago and supports a growing customer base across manufacturing, retail, industrial, energy and technology sectors.
The Houston, TX operation employs experienced professionals across sales, operations, customs compliance and customer solutions. Average client tenure exceeds eight years, reflecting a strong service model and long-term commercial relationships.
The business is investing in additional headcount following sustained revenue growth, increased customer demand and several strategic account wins. This hire forms part of a deliberate expansion plan rather than a replacement requirement.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will manage daily activities associated with the role while maintaining high service standards.
- You will collaborate with operations, pricing, customs and leadership teams to deliver customer solutions.
- You will maintain accurate information within CargoWise, CRM and reporting systems.
- You will support customer retention, growth initiatives and service improvement activities.
- You will ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable transportation regulations.
- You will provide regular reporting on performance metrics and customer requirements.
- You will contribute to process improvements and continuous operational excellence programmes.
- You will maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers and internal stakeholders.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You will bring a minimum of five years of experience within international freight forwarding or logistics.
- You will possess strong knowledge of air, ocean, project or commercial activities relevant to the position.
- You will demonstrate proficiency using CargoWise or comparable freight management systems.
- You will communicate effectively with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders.
- You will have a proven record of accountability and ownership within previous roles.
- You will be comfortable working within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- You will understand regulatory and compliance obligations relevant to international transportation.
