Role Description The Registered Dental Hygienist is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services, including patient assessments, oral health education, and treatment planning in collaboration with dentists. Day-to-day tasks include performing dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and applying sealants and fluoride treatments. The hygienist will document findings, maintain accurate and timely patient records, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols. The role also involves educating patients on oral hygiene techniques, discussing treatment options, and supporting an excellent patient experience through clear communication and a compassionate approach.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Dentistry and Hygiene, with the ability to perform comprehensive assessments and deliver patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in Dental Care and Dental Prophylaxis, including routine cleanings, scaling, root planing, and preventive treatments.
- Knowledge of Periodontal Disease, including recognition, treatment collaboration, and ongoing maintenance for affected patients.
- Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Texas and completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Commitment to infection control standards, OSHA and HIPAA compliance, and maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Strong communication and patient education skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and dental team members.
- Comfort working in a busy practice setting and serving diverse populations, including underserved and rural community patients.
- CPR certification and familiarity with electronic dental records systems are highly beneficial.
