Role Description
The Registered Dental Hygienist is a full-time, on-site role based in Santa Fe, NM. The role involves providing comprehensive preventive dental care, including conducting dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, and other hygiene procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing oral health assessments, identifying signs of periodontal disease and other conditions, educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and collaborating with dentists and support staff to coordinate patient care. The hygienist will maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation, follow infection control and safety protocols, and contribute to a welcoming, respectful environment for patients of all backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in dentistry and dental care, with the ability to support comprehensive treatment plans.
- Demonstrated expertise in hygiene procedures, including dental prophylaxis and related preventive services.
- Knowledge of periodontal disease, including assessment, monitoring, and patient education on prevention and management.
- Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state of New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting, collaborating with dentists, assistants, and administrative staff.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management and electronic clinical record systems.
