Painting Apprentice- 4 Day Work Week

Job Description:

Altimate Painting LLC is looking for a hardworking Painting Apprentice / Helper to join our team.

This is an entry-level position, so you do not need years of painting experience. What we care about most is that you show up on time, work hard, listen, stay off your phone, and want to learn the trade.

You’ll be working with experienced painters on interior and exterior painting jobs. Your job will be to help the crew set up, protect the customer’s home, prep surfaces, keep the jobsite clean, and learn the right way to paint.

This is a good fit for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade, work with their hands, and grow with a company.

Location:

We work within a 1 hour radius of Hamilton NY. With most work being done in Cazenovia, Manlius, Fayetteville. The crew members usually drive to each jobsite and meet the rest of the crew there. Sometimes carpooling can be worked out with other crew members if it makes sense.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Help set up and clean up jobsites
• Move tools, ladders, materials, and equipment
• Protect floors, furniture, landscaping, fixtures, and customer property
• Mask, tape, scrape, sand, caulk, wash, and prep surfaces
• Help with brushing, rolling, spraying, back rolling, and staining
• Learn our company standards and painting process
• Follow directions from the Crew Leader and Lead Painter
• Keep the jobsite clean, safe, and professional

Experience:

Painting experience is helpful, but not required.

We would rather train someone with a good attitude than hire someone with experience and bad habits.

Work Environment

You’ll be working on residential interior and exterior painting projects. Work may include standing, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, sanding, scraping, masking, painting, cleaning, and working outdoors depending on the job.

Employees can move up based on reliability, skill growth, quality of work, production speed, clean jobsites, safety, leadership, and ability to follow company systems. Our top painters are earning on average $25-$28/hr after the first year. With room to grow from there. Raises are based on skill not time with the company. So the faster you learn and the better work you do the more you'll be compensated.
