We Embrace Empowerment We Honor Authenticity We Cultivate Collaboration We Prioritize Purpose JOB SUMMARY The Lift Maintenance Manager oversees and manages the functions of the Lift Maintenance department by providing leadership, management, and strategic direction with an emphasis on the safety of lift personnel and our guests. Specific emphasis on team building, people management, and building and maintaining operational structure are being sought in this role. This position is also responsible for maintaining an inventory of parts, materials and equipment, shop organization, shop safety, maintenance and training records, timely budget reports, lift drawing files, and filing of notices and reports to regulatory agencies. Other responsibilities include: the hiring, training, documentation, evaluation, and discipline of employees under his/her supervision. The Manager complies with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations of Washington State Parks and Recreation, United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute (ANSI B.77), lift manufacturers, OSHA, and insurance Carriers. In addition, the Lift Maintenance Manager is responsible for the development of the annual supply budget, and monitoring budget performance throughout the fiscal year. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Collaborate across departments to manage the long-term strategy around lifts and lift operations Maintain focus on safety of guests and employees at all times Set and achieve operational, financial and guest facing objectives Respond to customer concerns and questions Oversee stock levels and order supplies when needed Gather guest & employee feedback and implement improvements Ensure compliance with all ANSI-B77 codes, state regulations, insurance and manufacturer’s requirements on lift maintenance and operations Ensure staff is aware of all current code requirements and operations and maintenance performed meets these requirements Implement and enforce employee participation in orientations, safety training, environmental, or other training programs. Attend educational workshops and stay informed of technical publications and current code changes Communicate with peers at other resorts to maintain up to date technical knowledge base Establish and ensure the execution of preventative and predictive maintenance programs on all equipment that meets or exceeds all applicable codes, regulations and manufacturer’s requirements Instruct and train staff in troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques Coordinate and hire on-site contractors to maintain lifts as necessary Manage a work order system to document and track supplies and maintenance work Hire, retain, schedule and provide performance evaluations for all staff in the department. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS Must have supervisory experience and a high mechanical aptitude. Five years minimum experience in lift maintenance and operations. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Organized, logistically minded, creative, participant-focused, and safety conscious Ability to effectively teach, direct, supervise, coach, and support diverse demographics PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation. Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis. Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on a constant basis.
