Schedule
- Standard Hours: 3pm-7pm, Monday-Friday
Training
- Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.
To be a successful UA Tech - you will need the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass drug test, including federally prohibited substances.
- Ability to pass full background check.
- Good writing and verbal communication.
- Preferred: community corrections experience.
About the team:
You’ll be joining our team at the ABC building, working alongside colleagues supporting the Beta and Compass teams. This role reports to the Substance Compliance Manager, who manages urinalysis testing and compliance for our community services clients. You’ll work closely with several departments and our welcoming Front Desk staff.
What Will You Do in This Position?
The UA Technician oversees drug and alcohol testing for our female clients in our community services programs. You will be responsible for quality, efficiency, and customer service in this role.
Specific duties include:
- Conducting drug and alcohol testing for clients of Alternatives, including: urinalysis testing, sweat patch testing, hair testing, and breathalyzers.
- Documentation and paperwork.
- Entering and maintaining accurate data into Total Offender Management (TOM) for clients.
- Cross-training as needed, to help support front desk staff and traffic.
PTO
- Accrual: Start accruing PTO from your first paycheck. Full-time (40-hour) employees with 0-2 years of employment accrue 4.65 hours per pay period, totaling 15 days a year.
- Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years, 5 years, and every subsequent 5-year mark, up to 25 years.
- Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.
