What are the responsibilities and job description for the ElementaryMiddle School Summer School Educator position at Alternatives For Girls?
Temporary Position
- Hours per Week: 20
- Schedule: 9 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Thursday
- Required Training Dates: June 15-17
- Summer Camp Days: June 22 - July 23
- Work is in-person at our facility
- Temporary positions are not eligible for benefits or paid time off
Responsibilities
- Participate fully in pre-program trainings.
- Maintain a safe and joyful environment for your students Grades K-4 (rising Grades 1-5).
- Prepare and execute ELA/Math instruction from Lavinia curriculum.
- Attend weekly PD sessions with Lavinia.
- Facilitate Community Circles to build positive relationships.
- Foster positive, safe climate during the program including student transitions, recess, and meals.
- Grade and enter student pre and post assessment data.
- Work with the classroom assistant and provide guidance on where the needs are.
- Professionally communicate with instructional staff, students, families, academic dean, and the site leader as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan teacher's elementary and/or middle school certificate.
- Possession of a bachelor's or higher degree.
- Be prepared to provide 3 references from current or previous teaching employers
- Must meet No Child Left Behind Standards as defined by the State of Michigan.
- The ability to utilize a variety of instructional technology and integrate it into the everyday workflow is necessary.
- Ability to use computer technology for research, data management, communications, and other instruction.
- Knowledge of productivity applications such as Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software) is required.
- Applicants must satisfactorily pass a criminal background and other checks as defined by the State of Michigan.
Salary : $60 - $70
