Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and laundry
- Observe and document patient conditions, behaviors, and progress to update care plans accurately
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
Skills
- Proven experience in home care, assisted living, nursing home environments, or group homes with a focus on senior care or disability support
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are highly valued
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care enhances caregiving quality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, healthcare teams, and social workers
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs is preferred
