Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse to provide exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other routes while adhering to aseptic techniques and medication protocols.
- Manage complex clinical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and wound care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and long-term care arrangements including hospice & palliative medicine and memory care.
- Conduct triage assessments for incoming patients in urgent care or emergency room settings, prioritizing based on acuity levels.
- Support infection control practices by following strict protocols for specimen collection/processing and sterile processing procedures.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, radiology (CT scans), sonography, and other imaging modalities.
- Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those in behavioral health or trauma medicine settings.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation in accordance with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements.
Experience
- Proven nursing experience in acute care environments such as hospitals or Level I/II trauma centers with ICU or emergency room exposure preferred.
- Experience working with complex medical conditions including cardiac catheterization, infectious disease care, dialysis, or post-acute care settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is advantageous.
- Background in medical-surgical nursing, critical care transport, or specialty areas such as neuro or trauma medicine enhances candidacy.
- Prior work supporting patients in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is valued.
- Knowledge of occupational health protocols and Workers' compensation law is a plus for roles involving workplace injury management.
- Strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and diagnostic evaluation techniques ensures high-quality patient assessment and care delivery.
