What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Program Specialist position at Alternate Payments Division?

Located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Alternate Payment Division. As a Financial Program Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting a Program Manager by working on systems development and enhancements and helping manage all day-to-day operational functions required of the US Debit Card Program with Digital Pay.

Qualifications:

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.


Specialized experience for this position is defined as making recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of financial programs and operations. Specialized Experience for the GS-12, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Examples of this experience could include:

- Utilizing various analytical techniques to determine strengths and weaknesses and recommend improvements in operations related to financial systems, OR

- Supporting a Program Manager by working on financial system's development or enhancements OR

- Assisting with process improvement evaluations of financial programs, processes, or systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and program management OR

- Providing analysis and advice pertaining to financial systems that require communication and presentation skills to a team or management


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
