Overview:
The Data Stewardship Coordinator plays a key operational role in connecting the central data team and departmental data stewards. This position supports the Data Product Manager in executing the enterprise data stewardship framework ensuring data assets are consistently defined, discoverable, and trusted across the organization. This role focuses on maintaining integrity, accuracy, and usability of shared data assets by helping departments apply established data standards, policies, and processes.
Essential Functions:
1. 90%
- Serves as the primary liaison between the central data team and departmental data stewards to ensure consistent communication and alignment on data priorities.
- Supports data quality reviews, logs and follows up on data quality issues, and tracks remediation progress with data owners.
- Assists in the rollout of stewardship processes, policies, and training materials across departments.
- Documents data definitions, standards, lineage information, and stewardship procedures in an accessible and consistent format.
- Collaborates with data engineers, analysts, and business stewards to align definitions, classifications, and data access controls.
- Prepares reports and dashboards on stewardship metrics such as data quality scores, glossary completion, and data access controls.

- Supports communication and training initiatives that promote data literacy and awareness of governance practices.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, information technology, or related field.
- At least four years of experience in data analytics, data management, and data visualization tools.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) credential preferred.
- ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) credential preferred.
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Able to maintain accuracy and organization while ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or other related software.
- Proficient in Excel/Sheets, SQL (basic queries), and project management tools (e.g., Asana).
- Familiarity with metadata management and data dictionary tools.
- Knowledge of data visualization (e.g., Power BI) and reporting tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Query, advanced Excel).
