Position Overview
The In-Vehicle Infotainment and Connectivity (IVI-C) Systems Engineer will collaborate with feature owners and software development teams to define system interfaces and software requirements. This role involves translating feature-level requirements into functional specifications using a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach, covering use cases, sequence diagrams, and system behavior across IVI subsystems and software layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with feature owners and development teams to define system interfaces and software requirements.
- Derive functional requirements from high-level feature requirements.
- Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to define functions, use cases, and system interactions across IVI subsystems.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop feature-based specifications for In-Vehicle Infotainment & Connectivity (IVI-C) modules, including:
- Sync/Phoenix
- Audio Control Module
- DSP Amplifier
- Telematics Control Unit
- Enhanced Central Gateway
- Display modules (e.g., Head-Up Display, Rear Audio Control)
- Perform functional partitioning of features
- Define and develop interfaces between system components
- Specify system-level and ECU software requirements
- Utilize MBSE methodologies for specification development
- Use requirements management tools for authoring, change management, and documentation
- Facilitate working sessions with feature owners, module teams, HMI teams, and platform teams to drive integration strategies
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct system compatibility analysis and impact assessments across architectures, programs, and markets
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level and interface-level issues affecting IVI systems
- Support or lead cross-functional coordination for feature integration and deployment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3 years of experience in:
- Electrical architecture and automotive systems
- Systems engineering
- Requirements development and component/vehicle-level testing
- Strong experience in system issue analysis and resolution
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and API design
- Familiarity with Human Factors and HMI design principles
- Knowledge of Requirements Engineering methodologies (INCOSE, EARS, BDD/Gherkin)
- Experience with UML/SysML modeling
- Programming knowledge in C , Python, or Java
- Exposure to automotive infotainment systems or related domains
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive network tools (VehicleSpy, CANalyzer, CANoe, ValueCAN, Ethernet tools)
- Familiarity with requirements tools (DOORS, JAMA, Polarion, VSEM)
- Experience with modeling tools (IBM Rhapsody, MagicDraw)
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git, GitHub)
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
