We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in Manufacturing Change Control, Engineering Change Management, and PLM systems such as Windchill. This role requires a hands-on professional who can independently drive and improve change control processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience owning ECN/ECR and MCN workflows, developing manufacturing processes and work instructions, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and resolving production-impacting issues. This is a highly autonomous role requiring someone comfortable operating “in the weeds” while also driving process maturity and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Change Control & Process Management
- Own and manage Manufacturing Change Notices (MCN) and Engineering Change processes (ECR/ECN) from initiation through implementation.
- Drive structured change management workflows, approvals, and cross-functional coordination activities.
- Develop and improve manufacturing workflows, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Coordinate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings, agendas, approvals, and action item tracking.
- Maintain accurate change tracking systems, dashboards, and reporting tools using Smartsheet and related platforms.
- Ensure timely closure of change-related actions by collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Program teams.
- Support manufacturing trials, readiness activities, and implementation planning for process changes.
- Coordinate BOM updates, work order modifications, and revision-controlled documentation updates.
- Escalate critical production-impacting or schedule-related issues and drive resolution across multiple stakeholders.
Launch & Manufacturing Support
- Support launch readiness activities, milestone tracking, and issue resolution for smaller manufacturing programs.
- Assist with launch coordination activities, documentation updates, and process readiness.
- Support updates to PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and launch documentation.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain organized records for engineering changes, approvals, dispositions, and implementation history.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing documentation standards and revision control requirements.
- Support ERP transactions and change-related activities within NetSuite.
- Contribute to the continued development of quality and compliance workflows including non-conformance and deviation management.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, engineering change control, program management, or related environments.
- Proven hands-on experience managing ECR/ECN and manufacturing change control processes.
- Strong experience working within high-volume manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong familiarity with PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
- Experience creating and improving manufacturing processes, workflows, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with Smartsheet, Excel, and project tracking/reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as NetSuite.
- Understanding of manufacturing documentation including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
- Familiarity with quality systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 is preferred.
Soft Skills
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and resolving production-blocking issues.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
- Ability to implement new ideas and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Certifications
- PMP Certification
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification
