What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at AltaVita Assisted Living?
AltaVita Assisted Living is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our senior living facility. This person will be responsible for providing the necessary maintenance of the building, equipment in every department, and doing maintenance and repairs as requested by staff and residents and must have the ability to use tools and equipment to paint, do minor repairs, grounds keeping, and preventative maintenance under the direction and guidance of the Maintenance Director. Examples of job duties are as follows:
- Replace float units in community toilets and washers and unclog drains and remove sink traps for cleaning
- Replace and clean air filters in air-conditioning and heating units, washers, dryers, extractors, water systems, vents, and exhaust fans in bathrooms
- Ready vacant apartments for new residents. (shampooing, painting, flooring)
- Repair and hang window treatments
- Repair doors, hinges, handles, and locks
- Replace light bulbs, bed-call alarms, emergency-call system cords, etc.
- Repair wheelchairs, walkers, grab bars, towel bars,
- Paint walls, ceilings, doors, window and door frames, tables, chairs, shelves, racks
- Build and construct shelves, racks
- Help maintain a well-organized, clean, neat workshop and tool room
- Consider safety first and never extend beyond knowledge and experience
- Work cooperatively with all departments, staff and residents
- Replace ceiling and floor tile
- Maintain and repair lawn furniture and outside décor such as fountains, lights, etc.
- Complete routine maintenance inspections throughout the building
- Clean up after every job and test the equipment to be assured it is in proper working order
- Attend departmental and staff meetings
- Submit accident/incident reports
- Assist with snow removal
- Review required materials and equipment for job function with Maintenance Director
- Any other duties assigned
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, etc.
