The IT Data Intern will have the opportunity to gain fantastic hands-on experience and build your resume with corporate mentorship and exposure to the field of data analysis, data science, and IT. The Analytics Intern will work with the IT Team to gain meaningful insights and analyze data that can help the team make informed decisions, improve efficiency, and enhance overall IT performance. To excel as an IT Analytics Intern, it's essential to have a solid understanding of data analysis techniques, as well as a strong interest in information technology. Additionally, a willingness to learn, adapt, and solve complex IT challenges is highly valuable in this role. The intern will be joining the team at an exciting and critical point as SOFG will have just gone live with SAP across our core business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering detailed data, analyzing and developing recommendations to assist our business partners with utilizing SAP to complete their roles
- Play a key role in data management related to the SAP project such as data discovery, data migration and data validation
- Assist in ETL pipelines and scripting
- Analyze trends in SAP data and defect reports to identify areas for improvement
- Work cross-functionally with other areas of the business, contributing to priority transformation initiatives
- Create and manage operational reports that provide valuable insights to the stakeholders
- Adapt to rapidly changing requirements and priorities
- Perform data analysis and recommend opportunities for process improvements
- Develop recommendations from analysis
- Present recommendations to senior management
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree as a Junior or Senior student, or recent graduate on path for Data Analytics, Computer Science or Information Systems or related field
- Previous retail experience preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent communications skills and able to succeed in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (i.e. ability to create charts, graphs, pivot tables, advanced formulas, statistical tools, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery
- Exposure to SAP reporting solutions including SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP Datasphere is a plus
- Strong blend of analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, specifically Cloud Data Fusion for ETL/ELT pipeline development and Cloud Composer for workflow orchestration.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Data Migration Cockpit (DMC), including project setup, template management, data validation, and load execution.
