Position Summary
We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. This role plays a critical part in supporting quality and production by performing laboratory testing, ensuring product consistency, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Lab Technician reports to the Manager of Quality and Process Improvement.

- This position is a rotating 8-hour shift role, supporting day and overnight production operations

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform chemical and physical analysis on production and non-production samples using established procedures, including viscosity, thixotropic index, gel interval, gel peak, appearance, color, acid number, monomer content, water content, and specific gravity
- Evaluate in-process specifications and recommend formulation adjustments to production to achieve target product properties
- Maintain accurate and complete batch documentation, including process logs, charge sheets, rework documentation, specifications, and certificates of analysis
- Support ordering, receiving, and shipment of raw materials and product samples
- Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure adequate supply levels
- Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Recommend formulation improvements based on product history and performance trends
- Support SAP-related activities including data entry, inspection lots, and basic inventory transactions
- Assist with quality control activities, including data tracking and small-scale development work
- Support ISO 9001 requirements, including equipment calibration, internal audits, procedure updates, corrective actions, lot traceability, record retention, and customer complaint investigations
- Associate degree or coursework in a science-related field such as chemistry, materials science, engineering technology, or a related discipline preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 6 months of laboratory experience preferred
- Willingness and ability to work a 8 hour-shift, rotating schedule
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic proficiency with computers and standard software (SAP and Microsoft Office preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
