Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain software and databases (SQL Server) at customer sites.
- Connect, configure, and troubleshoot RS232 serial devices (e.g., sensors, controllers, industrial equipment).
- Integrate and test TCP/IP devices on customer networks, ensuring proper communication and data flow.
- Collaborate with customer IT teams to ensure secure and stable network configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field.
- Assist in the emulation of hardware devices to support in-house validation of software features.
- Provide technical support to clients during the initial go-live stages of projects, ensuring smooth deployment and issue resolution.
- Document installation procedures, configurations at each site, and service activities.
- Provide technical training and support for end users and customer staff.
- Maintain compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements.
- Travel to customer locations as needed, sometimes with short notice.
- Provide Hyper-Care Level Support to recent installs
- Associate degree or technical certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server (installation, configuration, basic query writing).
- Familiarity with RS232 protocols and serial communication troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IP addressing, routing, and firewall basics.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Experience with industrial automation or SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, ping, traceroute, Putty).
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Experience with hardware simulation/emulation tools or environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in industrial or commercial environments.
- Willingness to travel (up to 60%) and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
