Overview
Seeking an experienced Air Import/Export Specialist to manage international air freight operations, customs clearance, documentation, and trade compliance. The role will ensure shipments move efficiently, safely, and in line with all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate air import and export shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Manage customs clearance, shipping documentation, tariffs, and licensing requirements.
- Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams.
- Monitor air freight movements and resolve shipment or clearance issues.
- Ensure compliance with customs, export controls, OFAC, FDA, OSHA, and transport regulations.
- Maintain accurate shipment and compliance records using logistics systems and Excel.
- Support audits, reporting, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Stay up to date with changes in international trade and air freight regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in air freight import/export operations.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, international trade, and export controls.
- Experience with freight forwarders, airlines, and customs brokers.
- Understanding of OFAC, FDA, OSHA, and transportation compliance.
- Proficiency in logistics/trade management systems and Excel.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
