Position’s Scope
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for nursing services provided in the detox and residential services, including supervision of the nurses, their administration of all medications and medical documentation as stated in Alpine Springs policies and procedures, federal and state laws and regulations, the PA Health Department, DDAP and CARF standards.
Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with the Medical Director to accomplish all departmental goals.
- Supervise and provide direction to the nursing staff
- Manage and order nursing supplies.
- Monitor clients’ medications.
- Maintain records and reports including documenting progress of detox clients.
- Monitor clients to ensure safety.
- Monitor clients through a safe detox.
- Maintain a safe environment for storage of narcotics.
- Ability to conduct alcohol and other drug related ASAM assessments during admission.
- Ability to take doctor’s orders accurately.
- Ability to administer medications to clients independently.
- Monitor withdrawal symptoms in detox clients.
- Monitor confidentiality at all times.
- Complete inspections of all medical supplies and medications.
- Maintain and meet Environment of Care standards.
- Participates in performance management activities including client complaints and incident reporting.
- Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the CARF standards through scheduled management meetings.
- Schedule nursing staff appropriately.
- Ensure Pre-certifications and Insurance Reviews are completed by nursing staff.
- Occasional travel to other facility locations will be required.
- Any duties as assigned dictated by the needs of the business.
Job Type: Full-Time/Salaried Position.
Pay Range: Competitive Salary; DOE.
Weekly Work Schedule:
- Generally, this position is day shift hours, Mon-Fri from 9AM-5PM and is located at our Linesville facility location (Clinically Managed residential and Withdrawal Management/Detox).
- May need to work two days of shift work per week (current shift work: 12-hour shifts).
- On-call rotation is required.
- This position will be required to work evenings and weekends on occasion to aid in covering the hours of the company, must be flexible.
- Alpine Springs operates on a 24 hours per day and 7 days per week schedule. Employees are assigned shifts to accommodate these hours. All employees are expected to be flexible and understand that they may be asked to work different shifts/ at different sites to aid in covering the hours of the company.
Work Location(s):
- This position will be primarily working at our Linesville facility (Clinically Managed Residential and Withdrawal Management/Detox).
- Working at our Greenville facility is possible (we have a facility located in Greenville-PA).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing and two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Valid PA RN or LPN licensure
- Experience in clinical supervision preferred
- Computer proficient
- CPR certification (preferred but will train)
- Flexibility (facility is open 24/7)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organization and leadership skills
- Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts
