Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, configuration, and production of rolling door systems. This role is highly cross-functional and plays a critical part in bridging engineering, manufacturing, and sales support.
The ideal candidate will be actively involved in day-to-day order engineering, shop drawings, customer approvals, manufacturing support, and product design support, ensuring projects are executed accurately and efficiently from concept through installation.
Key Responsibilities: Door Configuration & Order Engineering
- Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and customer requirements
- Configure rolling doors including sizing, slat type, operation, mounting, and performance requirements
- Generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs), cut sheets, and component selections
- Ensure all configurations are manufacturable and installable
Shop Drawings & Submittals
- Prepare detailed shop drawings for customer and architect approval (plans, sections, mounting details)
- Develop and submit technical packages including product data and 3-part specification documents.
- Revise drawings based on feedback and track approvals through completion
- Maintain accuracy from approval stage through fabrication and installation
Technical Support – Field & Installations
- Provide technical support to installation teams and field personnel
- Troubleshoot jobsite issues such as fitment, mounting conditions, and operational challenges
- Assist with installation planning and documentation
- Support resolution of field issues quickly to maintain project timelines
Architect & Design Support
- Work with architects and engineers to support design integration and product selection
- Interpret construction drawings and ensure proper door coordination with structure and surrounding trades
- Provide guidance on code requirements, clearances, and product applications
Manufacturing & Shop Floor Support
- Work directly with fabrication and assembly teams to support daily production
- Assist with CNC machinary programs creation and automation.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to forming, welding, assembly, and component fitment
- Assist with new machinery setup, process improvement, and workflow optimization
- Develop and maintain work instructions and production documentation
- Support equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance as needed
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and resolve recurring issues across engineering, production, and installation
- Improve processes to reduce rework, increase efficiency, and enhance product quality
- Collaborate across departments to standardize and streamline operations
Qualifications / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Experience
- Preferred experience in:
- 3 – 5 years in manufacturing or engineering
- Rolling doors, shutters, or building products
- Metal fabrication or custom manufacturing environments
Skills & RequirementsTechnical Skills
- Strong ability to read and produce shop drawings
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes (forming, cutting, welding, assembly)
- Understanding of mechanical assemblies
