Assistant Kennel Manager
Alpine Canine – Missoula, MT
Full-Time | $15/hour to start
About the Role:
We’re seeking a strong, hands-on leader to join our team as an Assistant Kennel Manager. This role is best suited for candidates with proven experience supervising staff and confidently managing group dog environments, including play groups and off-leash outdoor pack hikes.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining safety, consistency, and high standards across both dog care and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily operations of a busy daycare & boarding facility
- Lead, coach, and hold staff accountable to safety and sanitation protocols
- Oversee group play and off-leash pack hikes with control and awareness
- Make real-time decisions to prevent and manage behavioral issues
- Ensure feeding, medication, and care routines are followed precisely
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding their dogs
Qualifications (Please read before applying)
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in dog daycare, boarding, or similar setting
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is required
- Demonstrated ability to safely manage multiple dogs off-leash in group settings
- Strong understanding of canine body language and behavior management
- Comfortable leading pack hikes and working outdoors in all weather
- Able to remain calm, assertive, and decisive in fast-paced situations
- Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
- Must be available weekends and holidays
