Job Overview
Alpha Bravo Construction is a growing General Contractor specializing in commercial construction projects, including gas stations, convenience stores, and retail/hospitality builds. We are seeking an experienced Licensed Architect to join our team. This role is essential for supporting our growing portfolio of construction projects across various locations in the United States.
The ideal candidate holds an active architectural license in the state of Texas, with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in architectural drawings and permitting. The role requires regular travel to project sites, making flexibility and a hands-on approach crucial.
As a Licensed Architect, you will take ownership of architectural drawings and the full permitting lifecycle, ensuring all designs meet code requirements and project timelines. You will serve as the technical lead bridging design intent and on-site execution across multiple projects.
What You'll Do
• Prepare, review, and manage detailed architectural drawings and construction documents
• Lead the permitting process from application through approval with local and state authorities
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients throughout all project phases
• Ensure all designs comply with Texas building codes, zoning regulations, and ADA standards
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and design compliance
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Maintain accurate project documentation, revisions, and records
• Mentor and guide junior drafters and design staff
• Stay current with changes in Texas building codes, regulations, and industry best practices
What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)
• Active Architect license in the state of Texas (required)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in architectural drawings and permitting
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other architectural design software
• Strong knowledge of Texas building codes, permit processes, and zoning laws
• Proven ability to manage complex projects from design through permit approval
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy
• Strong communication and coordination skills with clients, contractors, and municipalities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience with commercial and/or residential projects is a plus
