Key Responsibilities
- Post and reconcile client transactions
- Perform detailed bank reconciliations
- Prepare payroll tax returns (941s, UC8s, W-2s, 1099s)
- Conduct detailed monthly or weekly transaction reviews
- Review draft financial statements and implement corrections
- Ensure proper supporting documentation and workpapers are maintained
- Respond to client questions and support the client service team
- Post investment account activity to the general ledger via journal entries
- Record depreciation, amortization, and other adjusting entries
- Post budgets and prepare budget-to-actual reports
- Support both accounting and tax engagements as needed
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Experience with Ultra Tax and entity tax preparation
- Solid understanding of payroll, benefits, and payroll tax compliance
- Experience with financial statement preparation and review
- Knowledge of Accounting CS, Creative Solutions, Practice CS, and FileCabinet CS (preferred)
- Experience in nonprofit accounting and internal controls (preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently interact with clients
- Tech-forward mindset and comfort in a cloud-based environment
- Availability to work 35–50 hours per week during peak seasons
