What are the responsibilities and job description for the HTB Youth Pastor position at Alpha International?
Role purposeThis role plays a leadership role in the organising, planning, coordinating of the Youth ministry and pastoring of young people and the youth team.Key deliverablesOrganise, plan, coordinate and deliver the Focus Youth programme including general admin related job roles, alongside the HTB Youth Team.
Pastoral support of young people and team.
Organise and coordinate other year-round youth conferences and events, e.g. Youth attending Leadership Conference, Youth Weekend Away, Termly Parties.
Represent HTB Youth at speaking engagements or writing resources.
Assist the Head of Youth with financial, administrative and internal processes (focal point, POs, expenses, verger and production requests).
Organise and deliver your priority spaces in the youth programme e.g. Upper Room, Gaming, Young Guns etc.
Meet with Young people individually and in Pods to encourage their spiritual journey.
Meet, recruit, communicate with, train and support the youth team community.
Safely onboard new Youth Team.
Connect with local schools and young people.
Ensure regular external communications (Team/Parent Emails, Term Dates, Youth Event Flyers).
Manage members of youth team staff.Core behavioural competenciesOrganized & Detail-Oriented - Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
Effective Communicator – Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various people within the organisation or external.
Team Player – Works collaboratively with church leaders, volunteers, and parents to support youth ministry objectives. Works well with all fellow team members to deliver an excellent service to the whole organisation. Shows awareness and respect for different viewpoints, remains gracious under challenge, and always remains constructive
Proactive & Solution-Focused – Identifies potential issues and provides effective resolutions. Keeps going, even when it is hard, but seeks appropriate help when necessary. Demonstrates high levels of commitment and flexibility; is willing to lay down personal projects for the good of the team. - Knowledge of HTB Youth and programmes
- 1-2 Years Prior experience of working with young people in a church setting
- Prior knowledge of Youth Alpha
- A keen understanding of safeguarding
- Good organisational skills and administration skills
- First class relationship building skills
- Willingness to learn and serve
- A vibrant faith which inspires others
- Passion for young people's spiritual journey
