What are the responsibilities and job description for the HTB Collective Pastor position at Alpha International?
Role purposeThe HTB Collective team is looking for a Collective Pastor, to work alongside the Head of Collective and the wider team of Collective staff, leaders and volunteers. This team works together to help students and young adults to encounter Jesus and grow in their faith.
The Collective Pastor Will Contribute To All Aspects Of HTB Collective And Take a Particular Responsibility For Certain Areas Of Ministry And Mission. This Person Will Be Relational And Pastoral And Will Be Creative In Mission To Those Who Would Not Usually Attend Church.Key DeliverablesContributing To, Developing, And Participating In
Leading on aspects of the HTB Collective ministry, for example (these roles will be split across the team according to each team member’s skills and capabilities):

- Regular rhythms of prayer for students and young adults in London
- Discipling, pastoring, praying for and teaching students and young adults - especially Collective group leaders and those new to faith
- Facilitating by-weekly Collective nights
- Planning the annual Collective Weekend Away
- Organise Sunday Socials after the 4:30 service
- Creative Missional engagement with those who don’t usually attend church
Leading on aspects of the HTB Collective ministry, for example (these roles will be split across the team according to each team member’s skills and capabilities):
- Alpha and other mission to students and young adults
- Involvement in HTB Social Transformation
- Freshers Week Events
- Christmas Party
- Sunday socials
- Developing gifts and talents such as the Worship team or other teams
- Involvement in HTB Courses such as Tackling Anxiety Together, and Workplaced
- Building connections between students, young adults and other adults of all ages in church
- Involvement in Leadership Conference
- HTB Collective at Focus
- Building community through depth of relationship, and living in the way of Jesus
- Identifying, inspiring and raising up leaders from within the community
- Inspiring students and young adults to become integrated into church life
- Modelling Godly character with integrity and love.
- Encouraging and support students and young adults in their gifts, ministries and prayer lives
- Build, support and manage Collective connect group leaders, and volunteer teams
- Maintaining the efficient administration which underpins all ministry activities.
- Works well with all fellow team members and seeks opportunities to support and serve them
- Seeks to adopt a positive attitude to change, even when it is not fully understood
- Always seeks to demonstrate high levels of commitment and flexibility
- Regularly asks for feedback and looks for opportunities to learn from others and continually improve their work
- Shows awareness and respect for different viewpoints. Keeps going, even when it is hard, but seeks appropriate help when necessaryEssential skills, experience & knowledgeThe following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:
- A faith in Christ which inspires others.
- A passion for students and young adults in London to encounter Jesus
- An ability to come up with new and creative ways to engage with students and young adults who don’t normally attend church
- Experience delivering pastoral care
- An ability and openness to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent relationship building skills and community building skills
- Experience leading teams, projects, or ministry activities
- Experience in pastoral ministry, leading prayer meetings, bible studies and preaching
- Previous involvement in Student and Young Adults ministry (as a Student or on team).
- Experience running creative social events
- Experience working with volunteers
- A keenness to develop and grow in ministry, willingness to learn and serveDesirable skills, experience & knowledgeThe following skills and experience would be greatly beneficial:
- An ability to come up with new and creative ways to

- Strong Communication skills
