Position Summary
The Animal Care Night Technician provides continuous overnight support for the welfare, safety, containment, and environmental needs of Alpha Genesis’s NHP colony.
What You Will Do
Patrol the property and animal areas to monitor welfare, containment, security, temperature, lighting, heating, ventilation, and environmental-monitoring devices.
Report animal, facility, equipment, containment, climate-control, and safety concerns promptly.
Prepare, deliver, and retrieve feed; prepare edible enrichment; and provide overnight infant care as assigned.
Perform seasonal winterization checks and confirm that animal enclosures are properly heated.
Keep work areas safe and free of debris and maintain department uniforms and supplies.
Work with supervisors, the Colony Manager, and Maintenance to address facility issues and ensure secure animal holding.
Maintain accurate records of nighttime tasks and communicate status at shift turnover.
Assist with animal containment and related duties when trained and directed.
What We Are Looking For
High school diploma or GED.
Experience working outdoors.
Basic reading, writing, communication, math, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently throughout an overnight shift and collaborate with other departments.
Valid South Carolina driver’s license or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Animal-care, farm, security-patrol, facilities-monitoring, or pressure-washing experience.
